On 11-25 of June Open Access Centre coordinator, junior researcher dr. Vaida Steponavičienė visited Stende Research Centre, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, Latvia. The main objectives of the visit were to raise qualification and gain more knowledge from one of the most modern research centres.
During the visit, V. Steponavičienė presented laboratories of the Open Access Centre and main research fields in Aleksandras Stulginskis University. Lithuanian and Latvian researches shared experience and success stories how to intensify the work of laboratories in open access centres, plan for future cooperation and generated ideas how to increase strong and long lasting business-science partnership. Dr. Vaida Steponavičienė presented the aims and main activities of Communication and Technology Transfer Canter (CTTC) in Aleksandras Stulginskis University. This centre is a link between business and science in university.
The next meetings took place in Priekuli Research Centre and Horticulture Institute in Dobile. The researchers from these institutions presented main researches and experience of collaboration with business enterprise. Researches visited crop genetics laboratories, greenhouses and fields and interested in the carried out researches and used equipment.
Dr. V. Steponavičiene stressed that there is an increasing need for cooperation between researches in our university and researches from neighbouring countries seeking to enhance collaboration between science and business entities. “The best results can be achieved only working together in the mixed researches groups; there all potential and expertise are join” highlighted Dr. V. Steponavičienė.
